Horizon Fund

Our Annual Giving Program

Marin Horizon School students are engaged, independent thinkers who have a true sense of their place in the world, take responsibility for their actions, and care deeply about how they affect their environment and the people around them. Our students are lifelong learners with a passion for the pursuit of knowledge. At Marin Horizon, we make a difference in children’s lives so they can make a difference in their world.

Each year, the Horizon Fund is the school’s fundraising priority. Because tuition only covers part of the cost of the exceptional education offered at Marin Horizon School, we rely on our community to help bridge the difference between tuition income and the true cost of educating each student. Gifts to the Horizon Fund support the current year’s operating budget and go to work immediately in support of competitive teacher salaries and benefits, technology upgrades, field trips, Outdoor Education, art, music, drama, athletics, tuition assistance, and much more.

Typically, the Horizon Fund launches in the fall, with all pledges due by December 31. (Pledges may be fulfilled through June 15.) All gifts, no matter the size, are important and make a difference; our primary goal is 100% participation.

Planned Giving

There are many ways to support Marin Horizon School, ways in which the school, you and your loved ones all benefit at the same time. Such giving techniques are called "planned gifts", because with thoughtful planning, you create win-win solutions for you and Marin Horizon.

  • What is the application deadline for the 2025-2026 school year?
We prioritize applications received by January 31, 2025 for the 2025-2026 school year, but will continue to accept applications after that date.
  • How do I apply?
Marin Horizon uses Ravenna as the application management system. Please create an account if you don't have one already, and you'll be able to submit your inquiry and application there.
  • Do you offer discounts for multiple students from a family?
No. We have many families with kids in different grades, and while there is a preference given during the admissions process to a sibling, there are no discounts for multiple children.
  • Do you offer tours of the school?
Yes. Visit our campus and see our dynamic and motivated learners being active participants in their education. Please visit the page for Tours and Events to schedule a visit. We also have open houses through the admissions season.
  • How many openings are available each year?
We welcome families to apply for admission to any grade, even if it is not an official entry point. Major entry points, in which we regularly add new students, are Toddler (approximately 36 openings), Primary (approximately 5 openings), Kindergarten (approximately 8-10 openings), and 6th Grade (approximately 6-10 openings).
  • What is the application process like if I do not live locally in the SF Bay Area?
We're happy to work with you, wherever you are! Just reach out to our team and we can make arrangements for you to learn all about Marin Horizon, from a distance. We are used to working with families who are across the country or sometimes, International - who are considering a move to the area.
  • How can I be involved as a parent at Marin Horizon?
Marin Horizon fosters a close community, so parent involvement is encouraged and welcomed! You can volunteer as little or as much as you want to, and as your schedule allows. Volunteering opportunities range from serving as a class parent for your child's class to serving on one of the many Community Association committees or helping at school events. Many of our parents are involved in some way.
